New paper! A Review of Staphylococcal food-borne disease with my research assistant Dipendra Thapaliya and KSU MPH student Jhalka Kadariya.
Congrats to the newly-minted Dr. Blake Hanson! Blake has worked in my lab since 2009, first for his M.S. in Epidemiology and then for his PhD. While here, he co-authored 12 peer-reviewed papers to date (several more are under review or in draft) and one book chapter. He will be starting a post-doctoral position in January. New paper: Antimicrobial resistance and molecular epidemiology of Staphylococcus aureus from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. This was part of MS work for Blake Hanson and Karly Kondratowicz, while PhD student Raj Nair wrapped up the paper; colleagues from Mongolia also participated in the research.
PhD student Ashley Kates presented her poster "Prevalence and Molecular Characterization of Staphylococcus aureus from Human Stool Samples at the University of Iowa" at IDweek in San Francisco, CA. This is the annual meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. PhD student Blake Hanson presented his poster "Longitudinal study of Iowa families to determine prevalence of Staphylococcus aureus and observe colonization incidence and familial transmission" at IDweek in San Francisco, CA. This is the annual meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. |
